Helping moms and their families during their childbirth experience has been a growing passion of mine for about six years now, and with each birth I attend, the passion grows deeper. Birth is the most inspiring and miraculous event in a womans life, and will forever be etched in her memory. I feel when a doula is present, mom is provided with the unconditional support she should have during her birth experience. A doula will help you identify your options, not tell you which options to choose. A doula will know when to speak, and know when to listen, and to listen without judgement. If you choose to invite me to your birth, I will strive to understand, respect and protect your choices. I want to help you and your family feel enpowered and joyful with your birth experience.  Do doulas replace dads? Absolutely not! Dads are often able to participate more fully with a doula present. Many fears the dad is experiencing are lessened when a doula is present, because she can provide informational support about labor as it progresses, and her calming influence allows the dad to give the love and support the mom needs to feel from him. The presence of a doula will compliment and strengthen the dad's role in labor and birth. Dads, with the support of the doula, are able to participate at any level that is right and natural for them. In this way, dads can experience fully the joy and wonder of watching their babies come into the world. A doula can help mom and dad have a satisfying birth experience, and will leave them confident in their new role as parents.
