Genuine Risk (Gen) is our pick of the litter puppy from the planned breeding of DC AFC Terra's Cabo Wabo (Sammy) and our female Nancy Drew (Lucy). SHe is a spunky little girl who we have great ambitions for and will be starting the 2013 Spring Field Trial season in puppy and derby stakes.
Genuine Risk's sire is DC AFC Terra's Cabo Wabo (Sammy) is an well respected All Age competitor within the Brittany community who has had a most impressive career. DC AFC Terra's Cabo Wabo (Sammy) holds AKC Field Champion, Conformation Show Champion, and Amateur Field Champion titles. In addition to multiple field trial and conformational show wins and placements, his most notable wins include the 2006 third place dog at the National Amateur All Age Championship and also the brittany breed's 2006 National Dual Dog of the Year, a title in which only one dog is awarded per year. He was also 2007's 3rd place dog at the Pheasant Classic Championship and 2009's Chuckar Classic Championship Winner. He has also proven himself a sire of extreme quality dogs, his most notable being 2012 National Amateur All Age Champion NAFC DC AFC MTB CaboRita De Scipio who is also the 2011 National Amateur All Age Runner Up Champion and DC AFC MTB Emme's Cabo de Scipio who is the 2008 Western All Age Futurity runner up champion and 2008 Western Futurity Dual award winner. DC AFC Terra's Cabo Wabo (Sammy) is sired by DC AFC Redlines Tequila Smoker who has also earned his AKC Field Champion, Conformational Show Champion, and Amateur Field Champion titles. In addition to his multiple show and field wins, he is a 2x American Field Champion, a 2x Runner Up American Field Champion, 2008 AKC Gun Dog Champion 2nd place winner, runner up winner at the 2008 ABC Chukar Classic, runner up winner at the 2007 ABC Pheasant Classic, placed third at the 2005 Chukar Classic, and was the third place dog at the AKC Gun Dog Championship. DC AFC Redlines Tequila Smoker has also sired many field trail and conformational show winners. DC AFC Terra's Cabo Wabo's (Sammy) grandfather is Brittany Hall of Fame Inductee and Brittany Field Trial Hall of Fame inductee NFC DC AFC Tequila's Joker who was the 1997 National All-Age Champion in addition to being an 8x American Field Champion, 5x American Field Champion Runner-Up, had 26 All-Age hour wins, and of course was a AKC field champion, conformational show champion, and amatuer field champion.
Genuine Risk's dam is Nancy Drew (Lucy) is a moderate range gun dog with an incredible amount of bird drive and an astounding hunting instinct. From a small puppy she showed an extreme interest in birds and her enthusiasm has continued into adulthood. These traits that are imperative to the making of a fine hunting dog are traits that she passes on to her offspring. Lucy is a natural, soft-mouthed retriever who is energetic in the field and has a nice form on point. She is also a very sweet tempered, loyal, affectionate pet with a heart of gold. Nancy Drew is a full littermate sibling to 2009 National Brittany Gun Dog Champion, 2009 National Brittany Amateur Gun Dog Champion FC/AFC Peter Gunn who is the only dog in the history of the breed to have ever won both National Gun Dog Championships. Lucy's sire is NAFC/FC/AFC Walker’s Gunner, the 1997 National Amateur All-Age Champion who has sired other national championship winning dogs including as NGDC/FC Last Dixie Chick. NAFC/FC/AFC Walker's Gunner is also a full littermate sibling to NAFC/FC/AFC Pistol Packin Walker, the 2002 National Amateur All Age Champion. Lucy's dam is our foundation female AFC Bullet’s Renegade Miss Megan who is a strong hunter and field trial contender. Megan is a direct daughter of Hall of Fame inductee 32x NSTRA Champion Nolan’s Last Bullet who is the all-time winningest dog in the history of the National Shoot To Retrieve Association (NSTRA). He holds virtually every meaningful record in this arena of field trial competition: most times a champion (32), most lifetime championship points (508), most points in a single season (102), most placements in NSTRA title trials (14). His six first-lace finishes in NSTRA's flagship events - The Trial of Champions, the Grand National Invitational, etc. - is a record only one other dog has equaled.
