About AFC Bullet's Renegade Miss Megan (Megan) Megan is the foundation female at Carter Brittany Kennels. She is a snappy little dog with a heart of gold. She would be considered our personal hunting dog as well as a respectable contender as field trial dog. She is absolutely a pleasure to follow with a shotgun on foot or in competitions on horseback. Megan is very stylish on point and has tremendous stamina and heat resistance to hunt all day if you desire. She is a terrific, enthusiastic and natural retriever: she will retrieve as far as she can mark a bird down (if she goes in after the bird it's coming back if it's dead). We have five of Megan's puppies as well as a littermate brother and puppies from 3 of her full siblings. Her son 4x Am. Field Ch/RU Ch/NGDC/NAGDC/FC/AFC Peter Gunn is the flagship around our place and has made Brittany history as the only dog to hold both the National Open and National Amateur Gun-Dog Championship Title.. All the puppies that we have from her have juvenile placements in field trials. Megan has multiple NSTRA (National Shoot to Retrieve Association) placements as well as multiple placements in horseback trials. She qualified for the National Amateur Gun Dog Championship by winning Amateur Gun Dog at the 2007 Georgia Brittany Club Trial. She qualified again for the Nationals both open and amateur in 2008. Though she didn't place at the National we were proud of the quick and graceful race she ran and the multiple finds she had. With just 3 minutes to go she went with her 5th bird and ended her bid for the National Amateur Gun Dog Championship. Had we finished the next 3 minutes Megan was virtually assured a placement in the championship. Megan's sire is the renowned 32X NSTRA Champion Nolan's Last Bullet and is a litter mate to our own FC/AFC Brook's Little Pete (Opie). She is also a full sibling to Beeline's Bullet's Bravado (Brave) and Split Creeks Medicine Man (Doc) both of which are multiple time NSTRA Champions and excellent bird dogs ( We've seen them work many times ). Megan is the kind of dog anyone would be proud to show off and own - at least we sure are.
